The Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery

Founded in 2013 by leading Queensland Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon Dr Jefferson Webster, the Centre was established to provide integrated, patient-centred care for individuals requiring specialist neurological, spinal, and rehabilitative services.

The Centre brings together neurosurgery, neurology, and physiotherapy services under one roof, creating a collaborative approach to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. With a strong focus on innovation, minimally invasive techniques, and multidisciplinary care, the Centre is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes and ongoing support for patients across every stage of their healthcare journey.

With clinic locations in Upper Mount Gravatt, Cleveland, Ipswich, Toowoomba, and North Lakes, the Centre provides accessible specialist care to patients throughout South East Queensland.

Dr Jefferson Webster

Senior Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon

Dr Jefferson Webster is the founder and the Managing Director of the Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery.

Dr Webster has a special interest in minimally invasive and minimal access surgery for the brain and, skull base and spine.

Dr Webster undertook his MBBS at the University of Queensland and was trained in Brisbane, Melbourne and Townsville with specialty obtaining FRACS in 2006. He has undertaken post fellowship subspecialty training in Pittsburgh, USA, in skull base and spine surgery using endoscopic techniques and minimally invasive strategies to access skull base and pituitary tumors, cranial nerve disorders, and complex spine and vascular pathologies.

Dr Webster is a leading neurosurgeon within Australia, utilizing various technologies including stereotactic navigations, intra-operative imaging, nerve integrity monitoring, the latest state of the art technology in endoscopy, minimally invasive brain and spine surgery and robotic spinal surgery techniques.

He is appointed as Visiting Consultant Neurosurgeon to Princess Alexandra Hospital and is a certified Independent Medical Examiner.

Dr Michael Stuart

Adult and Paediatric Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon

Dr Michael Stuart is an Australian-trained adult and paediatric neurosurgeon who completed his medical degree at James Cook University with first-class honours and an academic medal. He has special clinical and research interests in the treatment of adult and paediatric brain tumours, aneurysms and hydrocephalus. He is the principal investigator for ongoing clinical research in each of these areas with regular publications and provides peer review for leading neurosurgical journals.

As a graduate of the Australian neurosurgical training program Dr Stuart is pleased to provide care in all aspects of brain, spine and peripheral nerve surgery with a focus on the adoption of new technologies including robotics, nerve monitoring and endoscopy for minimally invasive targeted treatments.

Dr Stuart has a particular appreciation for the healthcare needs of the rural community having grown up in Mackay (North Queensland) and has a specific practice focus on the provision of rapid access telehealth services and outreach clinics for rural patients.

Dr Stuart is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia. He provides services at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, Townsville University Hospital and Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery.

*from April 2025 Dr Stuart will be overseas furthering his training and will not be seeing patients until further notice.

Dr Ronald Siu

Neurologist

Dr Ronald Siu is an experienced consultant Neurologist. Dr Ronald Siu completed his medical degrees (MBBS, BMedSc) at the University of Melbourne, undertaking his research year at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Neuropsychiatry Unit with a focus on cognitive function. He
commenced his medical career in Brisbane before pursuing further training in general medicine and neurology in Sydney and New Zealand, later returning to Queensland to continue his specialist practice.

He holds a Master of Public Health and a Master of Philosophy, with his postgraduate research centred on neurogenetics. As part of his academic development, Dr Siu completed research training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, USA. He has held academic appointments with the University of Queensland and the University of
Wollongong, and currently holds academic titles as an Associate Professor at both Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. He has previously been the Academic Lead for Year 3 Medicine at the Rural Clinical Unit in Toowoomba and is a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr Siu provides private neurology consultations at the Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery. He previously served as a Senior Staff Specialist Neurologist and the Clinical Director of Neurology at Toowoomba Hospital.

He manages the full spectrum of neurological disorders, with particular expertise in headache medicine and the use of botulinum toxin for chronic migraine and dystonia. He has completed the Australian and New Zealand Headache Society’s Headache Master Program, reflecting his commitment to advanced headache care.

Cameron Ho

Physiotherapist

Cameron is the Director and Principal Physiotherapist of Athletic Rehabilitation Physiotherapy. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2015. Cameron is an experienced physiotherapist who has worked extensively within sports physiotherapy practices, local and regional sports teams, acute and rehabilitation wards with Queensland Health, and within aged care facilities.

With experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries, from workplace injuries to acute sporting traumas, he now utilises his clinical skills and experiences to provide excellent hands-on and exercise-based physiotherapy treatments to achieve the best possible results.

Cameron is fond of combining his strength and conditioning skills in physiotherapy
treatments for speedy recoveries.

Jenna Scholefield

Occupational Therapist

Jenna graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019. Since then, she has worked within various sectors including inpatient hospital rehabilitation and medical wards, community aged care, and within residential aged care communities.

Jenna has a variety of experience providing individual and group therapy services in private practice clinics and home-based environments. She is passionate about working with older adults to maximise their function and independence to remain in their own homes for longer.Her special interests are:
